Founded and operated according to family tradition, Hein Bros. has evolved with the times, remaining Anne Arundel County's most reliable source for warmth and comfort.
In the fall of 1914, young Charles and August Hein decided it was time to go into business for themselves. They chose to sell newspapers on the street corner and a legacy was born.
In 1920, the Hein boys had a revelation: “Keep them cool in the summer.” Soon, the brothers built an ice house and the business came pouring in.
In 1921, Charles and August Hein began what has developed into nearly a century of service and reliability for the residents of Anne Arundel County. From modest beginnings, Hein Bros. Oil Company has spent nearly the better part of the twentieth century keeping Anne Arundel County warm and comfortable with quality heating oil, dependable service, and excellent customer service.
In 1927, the Hein's purchased an AutoCar for their business with the vision of delivering coal, wood, and ice to the people of Anne Arundel County.
Incorporated in 1930, Hein Bros., Inc., focused their “energy” on the fuel oil business, laying the groundwork for a mutually beneficial relationship with the people of Anne Arundel County.
In the 1940's, as the refrigerator replaced the ice box, the brothers added heating oil to their growing operation.
Let's fast forward… Having made it through the recession, Hein Bros., Inc. continues to pride itself on keeping the residents of Anne Arundel County warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and providing excellent customer service. It's 2013 and Hein Bros., Inc. is still family-owned and operated.
